MRM was delighted to be invited recently to make a return visit to a school in Glasgow offering a series of 12 archery sessions for their pupils. These sessions are held after hours and are available to all of their pupils who want to take part.

We have adapted our usual taster sessions as the pupils of this school all have a visual impairment and many have additional needs eg physical or learning difficulties.  We allow the children to use as many of their senses as possible so we use wooden arrows with real feathers and rubber blunts at the ends and we shoot at skittles so the children can hear when they hit their target.

The feedback from many of the children has been very positive and they get great enjoyment from just pulling back the string, releasing the arrow and hearing it nocking down loads of skittles!

With a bit of imagination archery can be tailored to meet the needs of most people whether they are able bodied or have a disability.

So archery truly is 'A Sport For All'.
