We are pleased to announce that our staff, accredited by Archery GB, will be running Leaders Courses (or The Community Archery Leaders Award to give it it's proper name!) over the coming months.
Leaders courses are aimed at people who work in an environment where they will be teaching others to do archery eg outdoor activity centres, sports centres, scout or guide camps etc. The Leaders course is THE industry standard and the only course accredited by Archery GB - the National Governing Body for Archery in the UK.
The course runs over 4 days with an Assessment required on the final day to pass - your Leaders Certificate is valid for 3 years. All tuition and materials are provided and the course can be run at your own venue or at one of MRM's venues.
The course can be run as a 4 day course or split into two sessions of 2 days whichever is more convenient for you and your company. The minimum number required to run a Leaders course is 6 people and the maximum is 12.
For futher information follow the link to 'Services' then 'Courses'. Please contact us directly to discuss dates and cost etc and so that we can discuss your indiviual requirements. |

MRM supports Schools' Health Weeks |
We have been delighted to support Active Schools in Glasgow and also individual schools to support Health Weeks. Archery is a great sport to get you out in the open air - it is active; it increases self esteem, focus and confidence and therefore supports the principles of the health weeks.
We recently participated in a Healthy Living Day at Allanton Primary School near Shotts. 86 pupils of the Primary School enjoyed a taster session of archery and in the afternoon the Mums and Dads also had a go. The day was heralded a great success by the staff of the school and the children wanted us to come back the next day and do it all again!
In June we supported Glasgow's Hazelwood School's Health Week by giving their pupils (and their staff) the opportunity to try archery. The pupils at Hazelwood have a range of difficulties such as visual impairment and physical and learning difficulties so we made sure that the children could feel the bow and the arrows and hear them hitting the target. The targets at this event were skittles and the arrows were wooden with rubber blunts at the end which made lots of noise as they hit their target. The children gained a sense of achievement and delighted in hearing the skittles fall.
MRM Archery is happy to work with any Active Schools Co-ordinators throughout the Central belt - we are willing to talk to the Co-ordinators' teams to discuss how we can meet the needs of your individual schools - email us by using the 'Contact Us' button. |

MRM works with Active Schools |

We have been working with Active Schools both in Falkirk and Glasgow. We are giving a variety of children, some with autism and physical disablities the chance to try archery. Archery is a fantastic sport for children of all abilities and disabilities to try as the equipment can be tailored to the specific needs of each child and enables the children to take part on an equal basis. It allows the children to enjoy shooting arrows and to gain the achievement of hitting the target.
