Almost Perfect! PDF Print E-mail

David had always fancied trying archery so when his birthday came along this year his wife had just the present in mind. She bought David a Taster session with MRM Archery.  David's wife decided to accompany him to enjoy the day too.

David took to archery like a duck to water and was soon hitting the target regularly around the middle. After about only half an hour David shot 6 arrows with only one arrow out of the middle so scoring 59 points out of a possible 60 points - six arrows shot almost perfectly.

David was delighted with his excellent shooting and is keen to try archery again.

Korean Archers complete a hat trick. PDF Print E-mail

Korean Archers completed a hat trick of medals at the Olympic Games at Lords Cricket ground last week. Ki Bo Bae won the Gold Medal in the Ladies individual event. Her compatriot Oh Jin Hyek took the Men's individual Gold medal with the Korean Ladies taking the Gold medal in the Ladies Team event. The Gents Team was won by the Italians.

The Team GB Archers put up a great performance: one put out the world number one lady and 2 of the team only went out on a 1 arrow shoot off. Well done Team GB.

The coverage of the archery event was excellent and the BBC are to be congratulated on the fantastic exposure they gave to our sport.

Two New World Records on 1st day of Archery PDF Print E-mail

On the first day of archery competition the Republic of Korea has claimed the first world records of London 2012 with a stunning display in the men's Archery ranking round.

Im Dong-hyun (who is legally blind in one eye) broke his own 72-arrow mark of 696 by three points (possible score is 720) and was also part of a record in the Team shoot.
Alongside Kim Bubmin and Oh Jin-hyek he helped register a Team 216-arrow total of 2,087 - smashing the world record by 18 points.

The day's shooting got under way in perfect conditions, with the Korean trio setting the standard from the off.  They took the three top seedings: the top five was rounded out by Great Britain's Larry Godfrey, who recorded a personal best of 680.

Just a few hours after the South Koreans dominated men's qualifying by setting two new world records, their women secured a 1-2 finish on an afternoon of tight competition. It was so tight, that the top three all scored 671 points from 72 arrows.
